State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI, Spielberger-Hanin)
C. D. Spielberger's classic anxiety self-assessment in Y. L. Hanin's adaptation. It measures state (reactive) anxiety as a here-and-now condition separately from trait anxiety as a stable personality characteristic. 40 statements, two scales scored 20-80; levels: up to 30 is low, 31-44 moderate, 45 and above high. In sport psychology it is used among other things to establish an individual zone of optimal functioning (IZOF, Hanin's method).
