Mental toughness

Mental toughness is the set of qualities that lets an athlete perform at their limit consistently under pressure.

Definition

It is often described through control, commitment, confidence and seeing difficulty as a challenge. It is developed through training, not simply "given by nature".

How it shows up in sport

The athlete holds their level at the decisive moments, doesn't give up when behind, and recovers after mistakes.

Related tests

Exercises
